Zippers were a major feature in a number of Spring/Summer Collections this year, Valentino and 3.1 Philip Lim for example. Whether used as embellishments or to actually seal a dress closed, a visible zipper is a sure way to add edge to an outfit. Personally, I have been craving one of the black blouses from the Philip Lim collection. The elegant wave of zippers is eye catching and could be paired with any pair of jeans to bring something a little more unique to the table. Unfortunately, this particular blouse costs well in excess of 400 dollars. So I went searching for a look-a-like. The first place I looked was Urban Outfitters, which is my go to place for anything unique. After about twenty minutes of searching through racks, I pulled out the perfect black tank top with zipper embellishments. Instead of those signature waves, the zippers have been delicately coiled to form little zipper swirls at the top of the shirt. For 20 dollars, it was absolutely love at first sight, complete with spotlight and chiming wedding bells. Perfectly paired with some shorts and a pair of sandals, I’m going to be wearing it all summer.

Lagerfeld himself created this tutu made entirely of natural resources. The torso is covered with slender ostrich feathers, whereas turkey and hen feathers are layered at the waste in a muted palette of pink, grey and white. It took over 100 hours to create this handmade garment, but every minute seems worth it.
convince my mother that they are a necessity and therefore worth buying. But even though I usually enter to worship the shoes, I found something else worth salivating over, a Valentino Handbag. It's a showstopper piece, and a bag that has to be the center piece of an outfit, but its worth it. Each blue rose is an individually coiled length of taffeta, which makes it look more like a florist's bridal masterpiece rather than a designer purse. Available in blue and pink, I was completely torn between which to crave more. My quickly snapped picture, which had just been texted to three of my most fashionable friends, was greeted by the oohs, ahhs and ohmigods of Valentino envy. Sadly at the rate my money disappears at Urban Outfitters, its virtually impossible that I will save up enough.
may call forth from their memory a trip to the French countryside where it is hard to imagine anything more beautiful than the sun slowly sinking behind the rolling hills. For me, nothing is more beautiful than a perfectly crafted piece of Marchesa couture. Every piece has an organic feel to its carefully draped fabrics, an effortless glory. With my promotion coming up, we are all scrambling to find the prettiest dresses, and to make sure no one will have the same one. I am quite sure that if I had the money no one could win against my pick. Imagine a dress (well several really) so unique and beautiful that it has persuaded me to actually consider
by Marchesa features a skirt with unique organza detailing. Although, as I am also the girl who is over dressed for every occasion, there was piece that really grabbed my attention, and naturally it was full length. However I do not want to be the only girl to turn up in something that goes all the way down to the toes of my Michael Kors heels. Of course I already begged the friend to wear one, but just as I won that battle, she returned her dress. Broken hearted, I gave up on mine and any hope I had of raising the money. But seriously! Just feast your eyes on it. Fabric cascading down from the bust of organza flowers. Its only negative is that someone fabulous has already worn it, Jessica Alba. This fact makes me just a teensy bit star jealous, wait change that. A LOT star jealous. And she edited it (do you remember?) Her version had more feathers coming out of the bodice, electrocuted feathers. But hey, its still gorgeous.
