I covet!!!

Well, I'm finally coming out with another post. I've found this dress that I find gorgeous. Here's the story: On one unusually sunny Thursday in November, I found myself (yet again) clicking my way through those beautiful fashion archives those of us in the know call NeimanMarcus.com. It's a magical place and I have found many a glorious piece there, of course its all out of my price range. But today, I found a dress, a dream dress. Its GORGEOUS! Jay Godfrey's past 3 collections have been mostly black and white with splashes of color, and this dress is no different. Of course it would require some accessories. Specifically, a big statement necklace, it would be black, metallic, maybe a few jewels. A pair of Louboutin pumps, in black, although the red sole might be distracting. Perhaps a big black belt as well, but that might mean no necklaces.
I've been listening to a lot of music lately, and I mean a lot. I kind of discovered this new artist. I first heard her on So You Think You can dance. Mirah is a group that writes very unusual, instrumental music. Her sound is so completely unique, it just pulls you in. My favourite song of hers is The Garden, and it is the same one I heard on tv. WARNING: This song is extremely addictive. Once it is in your head, it won't be leaving for a while. I highly suggest checking out her album on iTunes, its well worth the money.

Yours longingly,
Hannah

Déjà vu...

I was watching Project Runway last night and apart from the garbage walking down the runway, there was one "creature" that was absolutely gorgeous. Lets take a look...
Who saw it coming?!?! yes, oh yes, it was yours truly. Okay, my bragging fest is over. We all know Mrs. Klum has a habit of wearing short, short SHORT dresses, but this is pushing it. An already bordering trashy dress is kept ladylike with the "longer" hemline. Heidi is just hiking it up! I know I said it should be shorter and she clearly agrees, but I said for it to be with skinny jeans. Seriously...

Well, my return was angry, but a return none the less, back at the weekend!

Yours proudly,
Hannah xxxx

My very own....

Sorry I've been gone for such a long long time. I've been busy with acting camp and my family coming to town. And now I'm in England! Whilst walking around here I've found that my own fashion sense is so in over here! Colourful tights, leg-warmers, Ked's plimsoles, and tartan. I think I may have gone native. I've got a pair of hot pink tights, and turquoise leg-warmers. Tights go with shorts and ballet flats, while leg-warmers can be worn on the outside of skinny jeans. I suppose most of its' worn to keep warm, but oh well.

I'm so into it, I went to the Keds website and found that I could create my own personal shoes. I think they're gorgeous... I've taken the traditional whites, and made the tongue, insole, and heel pink and white polka-dots. I would change the laces to the same polka dot. I already have a pair of blue ones with polka dot laces. I think I'm going to buy my customs, they're only $60!

Yours exotically,
Hannah

P.S. Keds are best worn dirty!

Jillian's Fall Collection

Jillian Lewis has been very very busy since Bryant Park. Take a look at her fall collection. I have to say, I love her... but I love her collection even more. Its got more of her signature ruffle coats and knitwear, which are always gorgeous.
The first coat is a little bit shiny, and the dresses aren't fabulous. In fact, the cream one looks annoyingly similar to the dress that she wore to the finale. Jillian is actually having quite a successful career. She's busily working away on a Spring 2009 Ready To Wear collection, as well as several private client orders.

Well, its 3:15 in the afternoon, so I really do need to change out of my PJs.

Yours yawningly,
Hannah

In or Out? Eva Longoria

Lets look at this....
... massive lace doily. I suppose you could argue that "Lady at Lunch" can be chic, and sometimes, god forbid, appropriate. But, isn't this taking it a bit far? I mean, really, Eva, the point of lady at lunch is to look like the lady, not what she puts her tea on. It doesn't even look good on the model!
It really does look antique, and not just antique lace. I say, put it back in your grandmothers trunk and never let it see the light of day again.

3...2...1.... and fashion off

Guess what show has been on all day... and guess what show I've been watching all day? RIGHT! PROJECT RUNWAY. The new season starts in exactly 13 minutes. and I'm freaking. I'll be back tonight or tomorrow to tell you all what I think of the latest hot messes. See you there!

Yours Excitedly,
Hannah

In or Out? Heidi Klum

I have seen this little pink dress so many times on all the Project Runway ads, so lets chat. Opinions people....
Here we go, the thing is... I kind of like the dress, just not in fuchsia, and not on Heidi. Secondly, on the show, Heidi is always the one who goes, "Vell doesn't eet look like eet needs a good steam?" Well Heidi... your dress DOES need a good steam, especially in that last picture, its all puckered and wrinkled. But, I do like this dress, as it looked on the runway. Its from Alexander McQueen's Spring RTW collection.

In this color, on this model, its fabulous. Its a very modern, structured dress. Kind of to the point of futuristic, which is something I love. Also that belt is so interesting, especially compared to Heidi's black ribbon. You can view a close up of the belt here -->(image)

Apparently, Heidi has a new stylist, Maryam Malakpour. So she's not of to a good start in my opinion. She got a good dress but not for her client.  One of Maryam's other clients is Mick Jagger, so this should be interesting.

Yours nervously,
Hannah

Batty Johnson

Betsey, Betsey, Betsey. You just don't stop do you?? She is completely mad!! I mean, look at her. How can you not love some one THAT crazy. Its fabulous! After I decided to write about her, I thought.... well I love her clothes, and love love her handbags and jewelry. But I would only be able to say the cliched FIERCE! to her shoes. they are loopy! I mean, from platform, to rainbow, to just random bits of fluff. She ALWAYS delivers. There is something about her designs that is just, so fanciful and creative. Its like she still has that state of mind that, and I mean this with the utmost respect, a three-year-old has. At that age they just kind of think, hmmm. I want rainbows and ribbons, and lace, and polka-dots, and fairies, and unicorns, and butterflies, and sugar and spice, and everything nice. oh wait, that's the Power Puff Girls. You know what I mean! Its just so... Whimsical. That's the word. Well, since I'm on a bit of a roll I'll do the Project Runway (EEK!) after dinner! Well thanks for watching and until next time, this is Hannah, signing off!
Yours, Nuttily

TARGET DESIGNER!!!!!

Its New, its Next, but most importantly, its Now. God, I sound a spokeswoman for Target. "And its available right now at a Target near you! Come quickly before its all gone! Hello, and Goodbuy!" New Next Now is the latest GO International for Target Collection. And it is sassy. Of course I always have to talk about all the fabulous pieces, specifically the one I have. I went straight to target and bought this brilliant, even though it goes against my laws of being, FLORAL skirt. Well, to be honest in this picture, it doesn't look that brilliant, not with the shirt tucked in anyway. Actually, just tell me right now if I'm wrong, but doesn't it look kinda, oh I don't know... like gossip girl ran out of money and cast members, but still wanted to keep the show going, so they just tuck in a shirt and say its schoolgirl chic??? Oh god, if only the shirt wasn't tucked in it would be a lovely skirt. I guess  I love their skirts, because I'm gonna babble about another one now. This one is way more formal and I would almost definitely never wear it, but I have to admit, its kind of, well, ah-dorable! I love love love the way the ruffles aren't parallel. Anyway, later I will have a cast list on my blog... no not for a performance silly.... FOR PROJECT RUNWAY!!!!

Shots....

I'm back! Sorry about the absence from the blog, finals totally got me stuck, and then I was off to the East Coast. And now, when I finally have time to write about my life, which I am sure you all care about soooo much, it hurts to type. See, I went to the doctor's office for the first time in 3 years today. It was just a check up so I was in a really good mood. I get there and suddenly there is needles every where and plastic gloves are being snapped on to hands and the doctor is laughing. She might have been laughing at something my mum said, or the look on my face. Either way, it sounded pretty evil..... yes, just like that kid. Yikes! My mum didn't tell me I was getting 3 shots today!! and I am terrified of getting shots, I've been traumatized.

Anyway, whilst at the doctor, I was asked to wear one of those blue, paper gowns. It was so hilarious, we eventually decided to hide it in my mum's bag and take it with us, all my mum's idea, naturally. But I was so excited!!!!! I mean, it was just so funny! the only thing I could think of when I was wearing it was, "HOW FAT ARE THESE PEOPLE!!!?!?" But seriously, 3 of me could fit inside it. See the thing is, I don't think they realize how hideous they are. I went online when I got back, and found the picture on the left. Is that I human being, actually MODELING a paper gown. Its like she's trying to make it look fashionable. When I'm a famous movie star, I'm going to wear one of these to the Oscars with a diamond belt instead of the stupid plastic thing. One of my friends asked me to to a Betsey Johnson piece so thats up next!

Yours, Painfully

peace, love and tie dye

Quand j'ai regardé le site de Top Shop, j'ai trouvé ces chaussure. Can you tell I've been reviewing for my French exam?! The sentence above translates, when I was looking at the Top Shop website, I found these shoes. Aren't they so cool?  It seems that "New Hippie" is in! I think that they're absolutely adorable. But there is one problem.... The elastic on the back would be incredibly painful, not to mention funny looking, because it never stretches out all the way. I would but they're £35 which is like, $70, which I don't have.  Sorry about the short post, lots of stupid reviewing to do! I hate my school! Well... lets call it a love/hate relationship...

Yours, Hippie-ly

Frugal Fashionista

Although this is the name of my new favorite blog... its also my current state of being. I am almost BROKE! I have 34 dollars.  and that's it. But on to the post.

My current favs are..... *drum roll*

Anthropologie
Its chic and unique pieces make even your average pair of jeans runway worthy... check out some of my dreams, if I had money. The cardigans, I absolutely adore. I finally
begged my mum to by me the blue one with lace cutouts on it (and succeeded at it!). It was 98 dollars and I'm so scared it'll rip if I wear it to school. I'm determined to wear it next week though. We get to wear our own clothes for once (I go to a strictly uniform ONLY school, which, if you think about it is quite good. It means I don't have to come up with like, 150 completely different outfits!).

New Target Designer: Rogan Gregory
He is one of my favorite GO international designers so far. I've already bought a pair of his wide leg trousers... I'm wearing them right now! They fit perfectly and the finishing and details are absolutely gorgeous. They were $39.99, so considering my budget, my mum paid for half. It's a super cool collection. It has everything that a teenaged girl needs, swim-suits, vests, jeans, dresses, cardigans, and tops. It's pretty much fabulous!
I really really want the leggings in the picture above and the knit vest on the one above that. They are such cool pieces. They go with..... well, everything! I've got lots of reviewing to do now... exams are next week, so I'll catch up later!

Yours, studiously
Hannah

Breast Cancer Research! Support or suffer!

You know I don't mean it! Tomorrow is our schools annual cancer walk. I wasn't there last year because I was in Japan, but its supposed to be really fun. To get in the spirit of things, I decided to do a piece on breast cancer in fashion.

For ages Coach has done these key-chains that I think are absolutely adorable, and they've also done a breast cancer ones. These are really cute. My favorite is the one on the left... although I wouldn't mind having the mobile charm!

I think that they're a really good way to advertise for breast cancer, especially because they are Coach. The one above is about $58 dollars. Kind of expensive? Yes. Totally worth it? Definitely.  Juicy Couture has also played its part, except 20% of the money earned from this shirt went to research funds. I bought this shirt, and so did my friend, after we saw it in some magazine. We both know people very close to us who went through treatment and survived so we thought we would help out. I seem to have lost mine however, which was quite sad for me to discover.  What's up with Renee in that picture she looks like she's gonna be sick. While smiling. And wearing Juicy.

Any way, got to go bake cookies for the walk tomorrow!

Yours excitedly,
Hannah

2 down, 2 to go!

Oh my god. We just did a show for all the people in our grade and the one above. It was so much fun! Anyway, we're performing for all of the parents and other people tomorrow night and saturday. Most of my teachers are letting us take tests next week, just because its a school show. I've missed a French test, an English test, and a Science test! it was quite exciting. I'm tired, and am going to go to bed at 8:30, unless I'm watching last nights American Idol.
Oh, So You Think You Can Dance starts up again soon! Season 4! Yay! I'm a dancer, and so are all my friends. So naturally we all watch the show, and so does our dance teacher. She loves the show. It's basically just a whole bunch of really talented dancers who compete to be America's best dancer. I want to be on this show, but I'm  probably never going to be good enough... and I quit ballet. It was making my life to complicated, just like gymnastics, piano, soccer, the list goes on and on. I don't really sing, but its getting to be more fun this year. I'm part of our school choir and we're singing this really confusing song, called Crimson Ivory and Aquamarine. Its weird but so much fun to sing.

On the fashion side of things, during my many rehearsals for the show, I was also online "shopping." Look at this fabulous Stella McCartney dress. I guess I'm addicted to her, her clothes are just so amazing! Another "dip dyed" look, also done in bright colours. I'm not sure about the vampire corset/belt thing, but maybe it's necessary to have a big belt with this look. I also adore kimono dresses, especially since I went to Japan I couldn't breathe in a real kimono. The huge sleeves are just so appealing. Its main problem isn't even showed in this pic. Its on the back of the dress. There's a huge, stupid slit going from her ankles, all the way up to her butt! Why would anyone want that? I mean, seriously?! Also, the sleeves are a little to long, they drag on the floor and that girl is tall. I also have a serious problem with this model's hair. It's foundation commercial hair. That hair-sprayed to death look so that it's not covering up their apparently flawless skin. They aren't fooling anyone. We know that the faces have been air brushed anyway!

Yours yawningly
Hannah
