Beauty

When some people hear the word they think of a face, sculpted by perfection, perhaps shining from the glossy pages of a magazine, others may call forth from their memory a trip to the French countryside where it is hard to imagine anything more beautiful than the sun slowly sinking behind the rolling hills. For me, nothing is more beautiful than a perfectly crafted piece of Marchesa couture. Every piece has an organic feel to its carefully draped fabrics, an effortless glory. With my promotion coming up, we are all scrambling to find the prettiest dresses, and to make sure no one will have the same one. I am quite sure that if I had the money no one could win against my pick. Imagine a dress (well several really) so unique and beautiful that it has persuaded me to actually consider last years dresses. Yes, I, a girl dedicated to this season and this season only, am going all the way back to Fall 2008. This design by Marchesa features a skirt with unique organza detailing. Although, as I am also the girl who is over dressed for every occasion, there was piece that really grabbed my attention, and naturally it was full length. However I do not want to be the only girl to turn up in something that goes all the way down to the toes of my Michael Kors heels. Of course I already begged the friend to wear one, but just as I won that battle, she returned her dress. Broken hearted, I gave up on mine and any hope I had of raising the money. But seriously! Just feast your eyes on it. Fabric cascading down from the bust of organza flowers. Its only negative is that someone fabulous has already worn it, Jessica Alba. This fact makes me just a teensy bit star jealous, wait change that. A LOT star jealous. And she edited it (do you remember?) Her version had more feathers coming out of the bodice, electrocuted feathers. But hey, its still gorgeous.

Hannah

Fashion Show!!!

I just want to type out a thanks to the Macy's at Valley Fair, which is where I spent all of Friday and Saturday. They put up with our constant running around, pushing through racks of clothes, and dictating size changes through our walkie-talkies. And thanks to them, we are going to have a great show!

It was a lot of hard work (my feet still hurt) but I have a fabulous new pair of Betsey Johnson shoes, two new tops, and a black necklace. I'm being a greeter at the evening gala, so I had to come up with a fabulous outfit to wear before the show. So our producer has lent me this fabulous belt from the 70's. Its a gold chain with pearls in the front section. Very Chanel pre-Lagerfeld. It really completes the outfit, but don't worry, I'll try to post pictures.

Yours thankfully,
Hannah

Pierced...

Well, no matter how much it seems that this post should be about piercing my cartilage or my belly button, its not. The Pierces is actually my favorite new band. Its a two woman group with impeccable taste, the whole fatigue chic ordeal. Catherine and Allison Pierce who are originally from Alabama started the band in 2000, but were really discovered by the rest of the world in December of 2007. The duo was asked to have two of their songs on the hit CW show, Gossip Girl. My personal fav is their song "Secret," which displays the creepy and yet addicting tone of this group.

My latest obsession, fashion wise anyway, is a sort of rocker chic. So, naturally, my current go to designer has turned from Dolce and Gabbana to the fabulous Balmain. Christophe Decarnin's latest collection was a rock and roll whirl of black, white, green, pink and purple, and was received to thunderous applause. I desperately NEED this skirt. And I kinda wanna be a rebel and where it to grad... :)  I'm thinking with just a plain white tank, my Michael Kors heels and this gorgeous grey leather jacket I found in this tiny little boutique called Mary Jane's in Park City, Utah. The lucky thing though is that it will require zero accessories. The skirt comes with an attached belt, so no necklaces or belts, just a couple of bangles and cuffs are necessary. Although, my friend is wearing a full length pink gown, so this ensemble might not be approved. But hey, since when did I care?

Yours rebelliously,

I covet!!!

Well, I'm finally coming out with another post. I've found this dress that I find gorgeous. Here's the story: On one unusually sunny Thursday in November, I found myself (yet again) clicking my way through those beautiful fashion archives those of us in the know call NeimanMarcus.com. It's a magical place and I have found many a glorious piece there, of course its all out of my price range. But today, I found a dress, a dream dress. Its GORGEOUS! Jay Godfrey's past 3 collections have been mostly black and white with splashes of color, and this dress is no different. Of course it would require some accessories. Specifically, a big statement necklace, it would be black, metallic, maybe a few jewels. A pair of Louboutin pumps, in black, although the red sole might be distracting. Perhaps a big black belt as well, but that might mean no necklaces.
I've been listening to a lot of music lately, and I mean a lot. I kind of discovered this new artist. I first heard her on So You Think You can dance. Mirah is a group that writes very unusual, instrumental music. Her sound is so completely unique, it just pulls you in. My favourite song of hers is The Garden, and it is the same one I heard on tv. WARNING: This song is extremely addictive. Once it is in your head, it won't be leaving for a while. I highly suggest checking out her album on iTunes, its well worth the money.

Yours longingly,
Hannah

Déjà vu...

I was watching Project Runway last night and apart from the garbage walking down the runway, there was one "creature" that was absolutely gorgeous. Lets take a look...
Who saw it coming?!?! yes, oh yes, it was yours truly. Okay, my bragging fest is over. We all know Mrs. Klum has a habit of wearing short, short SHORT dresses, but this is pushing it. An already bordering trashy dress is kept ladylike with the "longer" hemline. Heidi is just hiking it up! I know I said it should be shorter and she clearly agrees, but I said for it to be with skinny jeans. Seriously...

Well, my return was angry, but a return none the less, back at the weekend!

Yours proudly,
Hannah xxxx

My very own....

Sorry I've been gone for such a long long time. I've been busy with acting camp and my family coming to town. And now I'm in England! Whilst walking around here I've found that my own fashion sense is so in over here! Colourful tights, leg-warmers, Ked's plimsoles, and tartan. I think I may have gone native. I've got a pair of hot pink tights, and turquoise leg-warmers. Tights go with shorts and ballet flats, while leg-warmers can be worn on the outside of skinny jeans. I suppose most of its' worn to keep warm, but oh well.

I'm so into it, I went to the Keds website and found that I could create my own personal shoes. I think they're gorgeous... I've taken the traditional whites, and made the tongue, insole, and heel pink and white polka-dots. I would change the laces to the same polka dot. I already have a pair of blue ones with polka dot laces. I think I'm going to buy my customs, they're only $60!

Yours exotically,
Hannah

P.S. Keds are best worn dirty!
